Educational goals and expected learning outcomes: |
A) Learning outcomes: The module aims focuses on the History of emotions in the Modern Age, as an ‘innovative’ object of research and study that, since Lucien Febvre and with the “Annales School” has given gnoseological dignity to this aspect of everyday life. It will be important during the course to illustrate the emotional forms set in the social and political contexts of modern Europe, as well as the sources and method necessary and functional for this study. B) Knowledge and understanding: acquire a good knowledge of the main aspects of the history of emotions and feelings, understanding the specificity of the correspondence between emotional norms, forms of expression and socio-political environments in the Modern Age. C) Applying knowledge and understanding: knowing how to analyse the fundamental stages marked out according to a chronological and thematic narrativel history. D) Making judgements: the student should acquire knowledge of the complexity of the complexity of relationships. E) Communication skills: to communicate with an appropriate register and the ability to summarize what has been learned both during the lessons and individual study. F) Learning skills: the module will provide tools for critical study of textbooks by stimulating also the elaboration of hypothesis and research of solution through sources and historiography. |
Methods and criteria for verifying the learning: |
Oral exam, evaluation of the ability to evaluate historiographical approaches related to the Modern History. |

Frontal lessons also with the help of power points and movies. |
